How to classify non-woven fabrics? Why is it an environmentally friendly material?

The fibers used for producing non-woven fabrics are mainly polypropylene (PP) and polyester (PET). In addition, there are also nylon (PA) and adhesive fibers. Acrylic acid, ethylene (HDPE), polyurethane (PVC). According to application requirements, non-woven fabrics can be applied once and are durable.

According to the production process, it is divided into:

1. The water jetting process of non-woven fabric is to spray high-pressure fine water onto one or more layers of fiber mesh, causing the fibers to entangle with each other, thereby enhancing the fiber mesh and having a certain strength.

2. Heat bonded non-woven fabric: Heat bonded non-woven fabric refers to a fibrous or powdery hot melt adhesive reinforcement material added to the fiber mesh, and the fiber mesh is further melted and cooled to form a fabric.

3. Pulp air flow net non-woven fabric: Air flow net non-woven fabric can also be called dust-free paper, dry papermaking non-woven fabric. It uses airflow mesh technology to open the wood pulp fiberboard into a single fiber state, then uses airflow method to aggregate the fibers on the mesh curtain, and further strengthens the fiber mesh into a fabric.

4. Wet non-woven fabric: Wet non-woven fabric is made by making single fibers from fiber raw materials placed in a water-based medium, and mixing different fiber raw materials to form a fiber suspension. Then, the suspended pulp is transported to the fiber mesh forming mechanism to keep the fibers in a wet state, and the mesh is reinforced into cloth.

5. Spunbonded nonwoven fabric: Spunbonded nonwoven fabric is a filament laid in a fiber web after a polymer is extruded and stretched to form a continuous filament. Then, the fiber mesh is bonded, thermally bonded, and chemically bonded. Alternatively, mechanical reinforcement can be used to make the fiber mesh into non-woven fabric.

6. Melt blown non-woven fabric: Melt blown non-woven fabric process: polymer feeding - melt extrusion - fiber formation - fiber cooling - making mesh - reinforcing fabric.

7. Needled non-woven fabric: Needled non-woven fabric is a type of dry process non-woven fabric. Needle punched non-woven fabric is the piercing effect of a blood piercing needle, and the fluffy fiber mesh is reinforced into fabric.

8. Non woven fabric: Non woven fabric is a dry non-woven fabric. The stitching method adopts a warp knitted coil structure, fiber mesh, yarn layer, and non-woven materials (such as plastic sheets, plastic thin metal foil). Etc. or their combination is reinforced to form non-woven fabrics.

9. Hydrophilic non-woven fabric: mainly used in the production of medical and health materials to achieve better hand feel without scratching the skin. For example, sanitary napkins and sanitary pads are hydrophilic functions of using hydrophilic non-woven fabrics.

This non-woven fabric has a new type of fiber product that is soft, breathable, and has a flat structure. It has the softness of non shedding, firmness, durability, and silky smoothness. It is a reinforcing material and has a cotton texture compared to cotton fabrics. Non woven bags are easy to form and inexpensive to manufacture.

It is a new generation of environmentally friendly materials that are hydrophobic, breathable, soft, non flammable, non-toxic, non irritating, and rich in color. If the material naturally decomposes outside, the longest lifespan is only 90 days. It will decompose in the room within 8 years. It is non-toxic, odorless, and has no residual substances during combustion, so it does not pollute the environment and can protect the environment..

In terms of environmental protection, the majority of non-woven fabrics currently used are made of polypropylene, while plastic bags are made of polyethylene. Although the names of these two substances are similar, their chemical structures are vastly different.

The chemical molecular structure of polyethylene has considerable stability and is extremely difficult to degrade. Therefore, the decomposition of plastic bags takes 300 years. The chemical structure of polypropylene is not strong, and the molecular chains are prone to breakage, so it can be effectively degraded. And enter the next environmental cycle in a non-toxic form, non-woven shopping bags can completely decompose within 90 days. Moreover, non-woven shopping bags can be reused more than 10 times, and the environmental pollution level after treatment is only 10% of that of plastic bags.

The disadvantages of non-woven fabrics are poor strength and durability, and they cannot be washed like other fabrics. Due to the arrangement of fibers in a certain direction, they are easy to separate from the right angle direction.
